Pitching Guidelines

  1. Familiarize yourself with the Show.
  2. Is what you're pitching a topic that the Show covers? Has the Show covered the topic already?
  3. If it turns out the topic has already been covered, consider pitching a different point of view and it would be helpful to reference how your pitch is different from what was already covered.
  • Frame the idea as a question or a story, not a statement. This could be a cultural question you keep returning to, or a story that reveals something about Caribbean life, identity, or experience.
  • Think about what the conversation would be asking or the experience it would be exploring. What’s the story, memory, or moment at the center?

Considerations for Your Pitch

  1. Basic Information: So the show knows who you are and how to follow up if it’s a fit.
  2. The Conversation You’re Proposing: A few sentences about the idea you’d like to explore. Focus less on biography and more on what the conversation would be about.
  3. Your Relationship to Caribbean Culture or Experience: This could include heritage, proximity, memory, music, food, work, community, or long-term engagement.
  4. Why the Conversation Matters on Its Own: The strongest pitches reflect conversations driven by curiosity and insight rather than promotion.

What the Show Does Not Do

  • The show does not regularly host press-run or promo-first interviews.
  • The show does not book guests solely because they have a product, project, or service to promote.

The show does prioritize conversations grounded in culture, experience, reflection, and curiosity.
